Waking Up

1.

The sun wakes you up from your deep sleep and you lay there grinning like a fool, biting your lower lip and wondering if you should wake up the guy next to you or tip-toe out of the door and never see him again.

2.

You come to the realization that this is your house and this is your bed and so exiting quietly is something that can’t be done. You’re next decision is if you should wake him up or not—you struggle with the idea—is it too early or too late?

3.

You decide it’s just the right time to wake him up, you figure that the two of you shared such a magical night last night that at the very least he’ll enjoy seeing your face; that he’ll still be drunk on love. You lean over and think about kissing him but that doesn’t seem too romantic to you. You consider crawling on top of him—waking him up in a sort of sexy way, but then again you don’t want to seem like a slut.

4.

He wakes up midway through your fixation with what-to-dos and what-not-to-dos, turns over and smiles at you before asking if you slept well. You reply with a measly, “yeah…yeah I did.” before you come to terms with your own embarrassment, get over it, and let his hands move over your body. He rolls on top of you and tries to get you into the mood. It’s only been two dates but you decide to let go anyway—what could it hurt?

5.

The night’s still hanging on by a thread—the morning sun’s peaking out through the landscape of the night and lighting up the place. There are a various amount of things happening in your head right now. None of them seem to make sense to you—none of them connect; they’re just individual dots lining up and bouncing off each other: you can’t see the net. But then you see the first thread and the second thread and the third thread and you start to see how they agree with each other and how they’re juxtaposed. You understand the web—you see it—as the light from the sun pierces through the night and opens your mind to true clarity.
